Buh-dup! That's “hello” in chicken language.
We're the Velardi Family! In 2019, we bought our forever “coop” in Parkland, Florida. With two young kids and a Labrador, our lives apparently weren't filled with enough love, excitement and chaos — so we did what any rookie parents would do: we added chickens.
Dad: “What do you say we get some chickens for the kids? They can sell eggs, make money and learn some responsibility.”
Mother Hen: “Pass! And let me introduce you to our bird-brained Labrador that the kids ‘promised to take care of.’”
Dad: “Kids, what do you say? If we get chickens, you guys will take care of them, right?”
Kids: “YES!!!! We promise ;)”
And we think you know what happened next... Oh cluck. The Velardi Family grew by what started as four chicks and then, well — chicken math!
Then came P&G Farms.
Shortly after, we established P&G Farms and became licensed to sell our backyard organic farm-fresh eggs.
Committed to providing our family and neighbors with the BEST eggs, we spent our “nest egg” on premium organic chicken feed. If you know, you know — that stuff is expensive.
Then we discovered Parkland's bougiest rats were feasting on that expensive feed at night.
And of course, the fun didn't stop there. Oh rats — our chickens had mites!
That's when an idea started to hatch.
With a background in engineering and a wife “as mad as a wet hen” from dealing with mites, Andrew flew the coop and went to work — literally, because he's a machinist.
A few prototypes later, our idea for an automatic chicken feeder was in incubation.
We knew you have to break eggs to make an omelet, and we didn't want to count our chickens before they hatched. So we spent a lot of time field-testing FeedFort, making modifications and improving the design.
Once the raving reviews started coming in, we knew we had our “golden egg.”
And with a shake of a tail feather, FeedFort hatched.

FeedFort is a patented automatic chicken feeder that uses photocell technology to respond to natural light. It opens at dawn so your flock can access its feed and closes at dusk to help secure that feed from rats and other nighttime pests.
