How to reset the FeedFort door height.

FeedFort uses photocell technology to process light and correspondingly open or close. When the feeder senses light – it automatically opens and oppositely when it doesn’t – it closes. Yes, that means you no longer to be “up with the chickens”! Instead let the sun’s light do the morning feeding! Not home at sundown to secure the feed before the rats and rodents come out to rob you dirty? “Don’t brood over it”! FeedFort will conveniently close at dusk and your feed will remain secure until dawn. It’s really that “over easy”.

FeedFort holds up to 50lbs of crumble or pellets.

  • How big is a FeedFort?
  • 22” x 16” x 16” and 12 lbs.
Each FeedFort has 3 feeding holes. Depending on the size of the birds, 2 to 3 birds can comfortably eat from each feeding hole. Of course, those numbers “go right out the coop door”, when the feeder opens in the morning and right before it closes at night, because that’s typically when there’s a feeding frenzy and then the feeding capabilities are endless! Around our coop, everyone knows that “the roosters may crow, but the hen delivers the eggs” so the ladies eat first.

You bet your “tail feather” it does! The only thing you need to “ruffle your feathers” over is installing (4) AA batteries.

A conducive feeding location should:
– Have access to am & pm/dusk to dawn light
– Not be placed in direct sunlight (intense direct sunlight may affect the longevity of the feeder)
– Feeder is rain resistant; however, the food not! Therefore, feeder should be placed in a dry location.

 

Thankfully “chicken fights” are not necessary over accessing food in the FeedFort. Generally, they eat and strut off.
